Villa A Solid First Step On Property Ladder

HUNTER realtors say first-home buyers are flooding the lower end of the market and the proof is in the property.

Five of seven villas in a development on Kings Road, at New Lambton, have sold all to first-home buyers.

Mark Webster is among the new home owners and is testament to the theory that increased incentive offered by the Federal Government was the push potential home owners needed to buy their first home.

"I'd been looking around for a while and then they gave us the $21,000 grant and I thought well, that's pretty good," Mr Webster said.

The brick-layer, 29, described his new home as an early Christmas present, with the deal officially closed through Robinson Property just three days before the holiday season began.

After spending years in the family home saving money, he said he was eager to have a place to call his own.
